Why is sauna good for health

The concept of saunas has been known since ancient times. The first heated rooms had the Maya, then the Romans and Turks in their steam baths, and finally the Finnish saunas.

Saunas are rooms whose temperature is between 70 and 100 degrees Celsius. When staying in the sauna, the skin temperature rises to 40 degrees. Saunas can have higher or lower humidity levels, so Finnish saunas are characterized by low humidity, and other types of saunas have higher humidity levels.

Due to the high temperature in Finnish saunas, the time in sauna is limited to eight to ten minutes.

Staying in the sauna is considered healing because of its detoxifying effect on the skin and body, as it stimulates the body’s natural deep cleansing.

By sweating, the body gets rid of all impurities and harmful substances in the sauna. Accumulations of lead, copper, zinc, nickel, mercury and other chemicals are expelled, and bacteria are released from the epidermal layer and sweat ducts.

Sauna treatments help to relax the body and relieve pain. Pleasant quiet space and heat relaxes muscles and improves circulation, and stimulates the release of endorphins, a hormone responsible for good mood. Sauna is also good more relaxed sleep and the immune system.

When using the sauna, fats are burned – sauna helps to lose weight thanks to the accelerated activity of the heart, which leads to an increase in the need for oxygen. This process forces the body to convert excess calories into usable energy.
